The book lists below will help you find books that
match your child's interests and reading level. The lists provide
many different kinds of information: descriptions of the recommended
books, author biographies, and publication information. Many of the
lists also have suggested reading or age levels for the recommended
books. Some of these lists also provide information about reading
organizations, activities, book awards, and libraries.

| Recommended Book Lists from the American Library Association (Young
Readers)

The American Library Association, based in Chicago,
provides several book lists for young readers. On these lists, you
will find books that celebrate cultural diversity in American communities,
bilingual books, children's books by Asian-American authors, and books
recommended by the Boys and Girls Clubs of America for parents and
children to read together. |

The lists for the current year are organized by books for beginning,
