Below are activity ideas that you and your child can do together. The activities cover different math ideas, and they vary by difficulty level. There are also entertaining and challenging math games from FAMILY MATH for two or more players.

As you read through an activity or game, you may not know how it will end or what all the answers are. That's okay! You will learn the answers along with your child. Enjoy the journey!

Making Number Portraits
In this activity, your child gains a better understanding of numbers by comparing the shapes that different quantities make. This activity builds skills in Numbers, Number Systems and Number Relationships; Geometry; Algebra and Functions; and Concepts of Calculus.
 
Estimating Large Numbers
In this activity, your child gains a deeper sense of numbers by estimating and counting large numbers. This activity builds skills in Numbers, Number Systems and Number Relationships and Measurement and Estimation.
 
Numbers Down the Street
In this activity, your child investigates many ways that numbers are used in the world. This activity builds skills in Numbers, Number Systems and Number Relationships; Computation and Estimation; and Algebra and Functions.
 
How Much Does it Hold?
In this activity, your child explores measurement and volume at the pool, beach, or playground. This activity builds skills in Measurement and Estimation, Algebra and Functions, and Geometry.
 
Finding Fractions
In this activity, your child finds and compares fractions of different shapes. This activity builds skills in Numbers, Number Systems and Number Relationships; Measurement and Estimation; and Geometry.
 
Be a Food Critic!
In this activity, your child holds a taste test to determine everyone’s favorite food. This activity builds skills in Statistics and Data Analysis.
 
Complex Counting
In this activity, your child explores counting in new and exciting ways. This activity builds skills in Probability and Predictions.
 
Making up Problems
In this activity, your child creates and solves math problems. This activity builds skills in all areas of mathematics.
